P5 - Create a media profile

Image
Here I have made a CV that is specific to media, I have highlighted my qualifications and my skills, moreover I have kept it quite concise as a means to fit most CV formats. I also made sure that my description related to media rather than having it relate to media rather than having it being open to all jobs. I also imported a portfolio of my photography, unit 26 and short film work as it shows my own work and provides evidence to me talking about my skills. https://benjamindyer2004.wixsite.com/bendyerprofile

D1- Justify the choice of content and the repurposed formats

https://benjamindyer2004.wixsite.com/my-site-1  The reason I chose my website is because I demonstrate many skills in software, this is because with it i can demonstrate my planning skills and how I consider audiences which is good for clients. Moreover, I also show my skills in software such as Photoshop and Adobe Xd, this makes me desirable to many people including universities as it shows I am skilled within the software so do not require training, it also shows that i am talented as a graphic designer and understand filetypes as I had to optimize my images for upload. In conclusion this website shows the greatest number of skills that I have and will also make me appeal to a larger number of people. Moreover, it means I can send a link to the client so that they can access it from any device or  location making it more convenient. I fell like this would be great for attracting the attention of a potential client before I show them the rest of my work. Moreover, I cho...

M2 - Discuss Legal and Ethical Requirements

Legal -  For my short film all of my footage has been uploaded to YouTube, they will be under the protection of copyright so no one will be able to claim the footage as their own. This follows with the metadata of my photographs which clearly show they are mine and even shows the location in which I took them, however I can also add a watermark so no one can claim them. All sounds featured in my short film were assets gathered from freesound.org which is a royalty free website meaning all of my sound is copyright free My website has either images of myself or illustrations that I have made myself so they are free from copyright claims I will also need to ensure I follow laws on the data protection act when it comes to my clients, so for example when I have photos of them i will need to have them fill out a consent form first to avoid prosecution. Ethical - I must make sure that my website is age appropriate for my audience so will contain no swearing and will censor any more ...

P4- Identify and repurpose content for use in the profile

For my short film and test footage I had initially exported them as an MOV format due to working on a Macintosh however i later converted them to an MP4 format as it is a better suited format for uploading .I had to then upload them to YouTube to be embedded into the website as a link doesn't have as much memory to be loaded so will make the website load all entities faster. The reason for this was because I wanted to show the end products of my work as I was also going to have screenshots of me editing within Premier Pro to show off my skills within the software but also did it to show off a little of my editing style as all media producers even ones in post-production have their own style and some style might best suit the needs of one client over another. Moreover, by changing the file type, I lowered the size of my files from roughly 40Mb to 15Mb making the upload time a lot shorter. For my photography, I initially wanted show a before and after shot of my photos however when s...

P3 - Planning Personal Portfolio

Image
In this proposal I will be discussing the creation on my media profile which is in the form of a digital portfolio. The target audience for my website will be potential clients or employers or perhaps for applying to university, with the age range likely being people aged 25 and above, they will also have to be either media professionals or enthusiasts as I will be wanting to sell my skills to them in order to gain their interest. Moreover in terms of psychographics, as the media industry is known to be quite creative and ambitious, it would make sense that mainstreamers or aspirers are the types of people which I will want to make my profile appeal to. The distribution of my portfolio will be done to any future employers or potential clients as a URL, this will be done either via an email or perhaps by text on specialist applications such as LinkedIn or Indeed in. Or perhaps a paper copy to take into an interview with me as it may make it easier for me to discuss my work. The cont...

P2 - Scope the personal media profile for an identified purpose

3d modelling -  In my EPQ and Unit 3, I worked on my 3d modelling, I worked on making a 3d mascot for the Tokyo Olympics in the form of an anime style that is able to be rigged for animation and used in promotional material. The target audience was 5 years and above in the C1 and C2 class spread over a global scale, this is because it is to be promoted in many forms such as on clothing, as it's own product. This meant that I couldn't direct just a single group as this is a global event so will be marketed on a global scale compared to other advertising material such as football mascots which are targeted towards a more niche audience. The purpose of this product was to inform audiences of the Olympic event and also to promote the event through providing an image to associate with the event, this can be used synergistically aside with the main adverts for the event. From this I did my concept art in Adobe Photoshop demonstrating my skills in the software, I exported these to b...

P1/M1- Understand the purpose and use of a personal media profile

Image
A media profile is a document made for people to present their skills, attributes and qualifications to an employer when applying to places such as university, apprenticeships and employment. Examples of documents are CV's and Personal Statements. These serve the purpose of marketing themselves to employers and are usually presented in the early stages of employment and are usually followed by an interview where you can show of your skills and characteristics to see if they are suitable for the needs of the employer and fit the role that they are offering.  Here I will be discussing CV's and their contents and their importance. CVs are usually very short documents ranging between a single side of A4 to one and a half pages as these documents aren't meant to be very long, usually an employer will quickly scan through these documents looking for key words so long paragraphs may result in them not reading it. The topics you will want to highlight are as follows: Qualifications...
